Foster

We are always looking for foster homes to house an animal in need on a temporary basis. Fostering is a rewarding and fulfilling experience. As a TOC foster home, you will provide a temporary place for one or more of our furry friends to stay until we can place them into a permanent home. We will provide continued support to you throughout your time as a foster. Volunteer

Giving of your time is a great way to show your support for the animals that we are trying to help and our volunteers are crucial to the work of our organization. If you can spend some time helping us with one of the many tasks that make up running a group such as ours, then we would love to hear from you.

We are currently in need of:

• Dog Walkers – In the evenings, during the day, during adoption events, etc. We are seeking dog walker volunteers who will help our furry friends get used to leash walking and help them get exposure to the neighborhood and new surroundings. Dog walking is an integral part of a dog’s health.


• Volunteers for adoption events – Adoption events take place at the Norwalk Petco and are crucial to our organization introducing dogs in need to prospective families. During these events we need dog walkers, individuals to help adopters fill out paperwork, individuals to keep an eye on the dogs, answer questions for the public, help us set up and break down before and after events. Any way that you can volunteer your time during these events is greatly appreciated.


• Help get the word out! – If you are good with computers, or good with people, we are in need of volunteers to get the word out to the public about our organization. We would like to post our dogs in as many areas as possible. Whether it be posting on bulletin boards in local shops or posting on websites. Get the word out to your friends, your family, or even a complete stranger!


• Calling all Veterinarians and Groomers! – We adopt to many different areas throughout CT, MA, NY, and while we have an amazing groomer and veterinarian team in our area whom we love and cherish, sometimes an adopter can not travel all the way back here to get their dog groomed or vetted. If you are a local groomer of veterinarian and are offering a discount or a free service to a rescued pet, please email us at tailsofcourage@optonline.net and we can provide your information to an adopter in your area.


• Clean up – Our puppies can make a bit of a mess in our yards. If you enjoy working outdoors, we always need cleanup help.


• Transportation – We are always in need of individuals to drive our animals or pick up our animals with transport. If you are willing to make short, or long trips for transport, please let us know. We will of course reimburse your gas and expenses on any transport.

Donate

We are a non-profit organization entirely dependent on donations and the work of volunteers. Without support from you, the public, we cannot help all of the animals that we would love to help and who so desperately need us. A tax-deductible donation of any amount is always deeply appreciated and assists us in fulfilling our mission. Please see our donation tab to make a donation.

Wish List

We always welcome any contributions of items on our wish list and they are always much appreciated by our furry friends! We gladly accept items such as healthy treats, quality pet food, pet beds, carriers, crates, cage comforters, blankets, new leashes and collars, toys, gift certificates to pet supply stores, kitty litter, etc.
